CODE.ORG in TK
Today I had the pleasure helping Tk (Transitional Kindergarten) students log onto course 1 on code studios for the first time. Before starting, the teacher used her teacher account to create a new section for her class on code.org. When creating your section, you can select the course level and login type (picture, words or email). For TK, we took advantage of the picture login. Once created, select manage students to add students to your class. Students will need to type in a website address to access this class. Two suggestions to make this process easier for younger students would be to book mark the course login page or create a QR Code for students to scan to take them to their login page. Also, we found using Google Chrome works much better than Safari on the iPads. These planning steps made the introduction lesson run much smoother for both the teacher and students.
